You guys, everyone in here, we're basically just a bunch of backpackers. We are all just travelers, we are all just on a journey and we are heading for our home. But I think sometimes we lose sight of that and sometimes we start to focus so much on this world and we forget that God said in his Bible that this world is not our home. Here's to the crazy ones... the misfits; the rebels; the troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do, is ignore them; because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.

Why do we often say ‘truth hurts’, ‘the hard truth’, ‘you can’t handle the truth’, etc? Truth in and of itself need not be hard to bear or painful. It is only after becoming accustomed to living in lies that it becomes such. In my humble experience I’ve found the more one accepts the truth it generally becomes enjoyable, soothing, even blissful.

Often when you think about something for a long period of time,say jumping out of an airplane, you never end up doing it. Its the spontanaeity that makes it worth while.

Anything with the power to make you laugh over thirty years later isn’t a waste of time. I think something like that is very close to immortality.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. I’m not sure who the first person was who said that. Probably Shakespeare. Or maybe Sting. But at the moment, it’s the sentence that best explains my tragic flaw: my inability to change. I don’t think I’m alone in this. The more I get to know other people, the more I realize it’s kind of everyone’s flaw. Staying exactly the same as long as possible, standing perfectly still… It feels better somehow. And if you are suffering, at least the pain is familiar. Because if you took the leap of faith, went outside the box, did something unexpected… Who knows what other pain might be waiting out there. Chances are it could be even worse. So you maintain the status quo. Choose the road already traveled and it doesn’t seem that bad. Not as far as flaws go. When we finally do chage, I don’t think it happens like an earthquake or an explosion, where all of a sudden we’re like this different person. I think it’s smaller than that. The kind of thing most people wouldn’t even notice unless they looked at us really, really close. Which, thank God, they never do. But you notice it. Inside you that change feels like a world of difference. And you hope this is it. This is the person you get to be forever… that you’ll never have to change again.

When exactly we go from kids to people, i'm not certain... i do know that its not about turning a certain age or graduating from high school... it happens when you're not paying attention. we go from playing with our friends to playing with our friends feelings. without our knowledge or consent, childhood slips away into the night and our innocence escapes us... and we wake up one morning to find that we have become who we are.

Sometimes you just feel everything and nothing all at once. Sometimes you'll find yourself smiling while missing something at the same time. At times you can absolutely love a person, all the while wanting to hate them. Life comes without guarantees, except that smiling with brighten your face, laughing will enhance your eyes, and falling in love will change your life.
